2015 Fuse Project Dragon Boat Festival

This past weekend I had the pleasure of participating in the Fuse Project’s Dragon Boat Festival. I, along with several other young lawyers and professionals, formed a team to not only compete, but to fundraise for this wonderful charity. Although we did not win the competition, we were winners in so many other ways. My team surpassed our fundraising goal, made valuable connections with others in the community, and most importantly helped needy and at-risk children across the Gulf Coast. A huge thank you is in order for our corporate sponsor, Blackburn & Conner, P.C., and associate attorney Grant Blackburn for spearheading the formation of our team and our fundraising efforts.

The Fuse Project is a nonprofit 501C3 organization that provides funding and helps implement projects benefitting children along Alabama’s Gulf Coast. Fuse Project invests in initiatives and projects that promote health, fitness, education, and social responsibility for our children. This year’s Dragon Boat Festival raised $150,000! These fundraising efforts will help provide 100 mentors for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, provide an evening after-school alternative program for the Mobile and Baldwin County school systems, provide funding for soccer for inner city children, provide funding for the Prichard Preparatory Expansion, and provide funding for Fuse Camp at the Exploreum.

As an associate attorney at Gardberg & Kemmerly, P.C. I help the injured and disabled throughout the Gulf Coast area, in claims for Social Security disability and veteran’s disability on a daily basis. Events like the Fuse Project Dragon Boat Festival, however, provide me with the opportunity to help others outside of the courtroom. If you need help navigating the Social Security or veteran’s disability process, contact myself or one of the other experienced disability attorneys at Gardberg & Kemmerly, P.C. today at 251-343-1111 for a free case evaluation.
